Westward Scania have been using the VRM service for a number of years now. We find the ability to search on vehicle registrations to find the chassis number and model extremely useful when our customers do not have their full details to hand.

Just checked a second hand car on My mechanic had inspected the car, both of us test drove it. All seemed great. Did a check, turns out there was outstanding finance I would have been left to pay and the car was previously a write off! I spent 25 Euro and saved myself literally thousands and also saved myself from driving an unsafe car. I’ll be looking up every car I want to buy from now on. Cartell found problems no mechanic could find. When I went back to the seller and told him I’d done a check his face dropped. He knew there was no hiding or trying to pull the wool over my eyes.

I wanted to express my thanks to your company for saving me from potential fraud in the purchase of a second hand car recently. I had agreed to purchase a ’03 Jaguar from a garage in South County Dublin which was advertised as a two owner vehicle however you can’t image my horror to discover from your very comprehensive report that there was in fact 4 owners related to the car and it had been imported from the UK. When I addressed the garage in question with the evidence they attempted to ‘cover their tracks’ rather than admit the attempted deceit. Purchasing a report from Cartell saved me a considerible sum and the potential future loss when selling on the car, never mind the embarresment.
Very glad not to have lost a fortune and still have the opportunity to purchase a car with a full transparent history!

I really found Cartell helpful when I was looking to buy my new car. I checked lots of cars before I decided on what to purchase. The majority of the cars I checked all came back as Category B, C or D Write offs or had some sort of a mileage discrepancy some of these discrepancies were really bad.
This really put me of even going to view the cars that were advertised and it just proved to me that if you do not get your vehicle checked before you purchase you do not really know what you are purchasing or what you could be getting yourself into.
I also have discovered that some insurance companies will not even insure you on certain category write offs or if they do they could charge you a huge premium.
My advice to anyone buying a new or second hand car would be get it checked out by Cartell before you buy it , All you need is the registration and mileage make and model believe me it will be well worth it for the small price you pay, It could end up costing you hundreds in repairs if you do not get it checked out.
I have to say a huge thanks to everyone in Cartell for all their help. Buyer beware.

I was looking at a 06 Diesel Passat which was good value. I have two small children so I Cartelled it just to be on the safe side. Turned out the car was a category c write-off in the UK which scared me off. I didn’t even know it was imported! I ended up getting a new Octavia instead using the scrappage deal.
