Use of Cookies
The Company uses cookies to personalize or enhance your user experience. Cookies on the Site are mainly functional in nature. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web Server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a web page, or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. Hence, this simplifies the process of delivering relevant content and eases site navigation by providing and saving your preferences and login information as well as providing personalized functionality.
The Company reserves the right to share aggregated site statistics with partner companies but does not allow other companies to place cookies on our website unless there is a temporary, overriding customer value (such as merging into the Site another site that relies on third-party cookies).
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies. If you reject cookies by changing your browser settings then be aware that this may disable some of the functionality on the Site. We use pixel tags to track and improve the effectiveness of our marketing emails. For example, we may use such technologies to identify if you read a marketing or update we sent to you.
The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies. For more information on how Google uses your data and how you can opt-out of Google Analytics please visit the following page from Google. Generally speaking, we use Google to show us how visitors found and explored our site and how we can improve their experience, to provide us with information on visitor site behaviour, e.g. duration and average number of pages viewed, and how many visitors have visited the Site.
The Site also uses the Facebook Pixel. This is a tracking cookie that monitors your behaviour on the Site to allow for personalised advertising content on Facebook and Instagram platforms. To opt out of Facebook showing you targeted ads, open your Facebook page and click “settings,” and then “ads.” Then click on the “ads based on my use of websites and apps” setting and press the “choose setting” button and select “off.
The Site may contain electronic images known as Web beacons – sometimes also called single-pixel gifs – that allow the Company to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services.
We use Mailchimp for marketing emails when you opt-in to receive those emails (See “Opt-in” for News, Offers and Competitions). Mailchimp automatically places single pixel gifs in every email sent. These are tiny graphic files that contain unique identifiers that enable Mailchimp and us to recognize when subscribers have opened an email or clicked certain links. These technologies record each subscribers email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for a campaign. Mailchimp use this data to create reports for us about how an email campaign performed and what actions subscribers took. For more on cookies delivered through the Mailchimp service you can read here.
Some Web beacons on the Site may be placed by third party service providers to help determine the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. The Company prohibits Web beacons from being used to collect or access your personal information. When you type a registration for a vehicle into our website you may see an advertisement related to that vehicle. When doing this we do not collect and use your personal information.
The Site is hosted on WordPress and you can find a link to their cookie policy here. Videos on the Site are hosted through YouTube.
