UK Three Star Report Contents

A UK Three Star report will enable you to check:

Stolen– check to see if the vehicle is recorded as stolen.

Plate Transfer– usually there is nothing to worry about, but a change of plate can be used to hide a car's past and reveal potential problems such as if the car was a write-off in a former life.

Security Watch – check to see if the vehicle you want to buy is being sold illegally.

If the vehicle is the correct specification– compare detailed model on report, on the vehicle and V5 to see if they match.

If the vehicle is a clone or a "cut-and-shut" – cross-reference vehicle chassis number and V5 with Cartell report. If different, the vehicle may have the identity of another vehicle.

The number of previous owners– compare the entry on the report and the V5.

Previous Damage– if the vehicle has been recorded as Scrapped or Written Off.

Mileage– if the odometer reading entered highlighted any discrepancies which may require further investigation.

Finance– if the outstanding finance remains unpaid when you purchase the vehicle, you may not acquire title to it.
