Cartell is considered a small IT company, however, we handle over a million XML data requests per month for thousands of Irish and a growing number of European customers. We are developing intelligent algorithms to analyse bulk data assisting our customers make solid business decisions. We expect to double our business and quadruple our data processing in the next 18 months and to assist us with this growth we have identified an opening for a Linux and MySQL Systems Administrator at our head office in Clane.
The sucessful applicant will have at least one years Linux experience in a similar role (we use Red Hat and Centos), you will have already made your n00b mistakes – and learnt from them. You will have working experience with MySQL and can perform installation, cluster configuration and maintenance. You will know Apache and have some experience maintaining high availability environments.
Cartell has one of the largest vehicle databases in the country, (c..a. 900 million records) which is ever expanding with new sources and applications added on a monthly basis. You will take ownership of the secure collection, collation and maintenance of this data.
You will have an understanding of IP networks and security and know the difference between a router and a load balancer. You will be an open source advocate with an interest in virtualisation, cloud computing and clustering, your input and research will be key in how we continue to grow.
